The Biometrics 2004 Exhibition: Authenticating People, Securing Business
The Biometrics 2004 Exhibition offers you the latest in digital security and identity management solutions. The exhibition has established a reputation as the most focused global forum for biometric technology suppliers to showcase their latest products and services, whilst also featuring a wide range of systems integrators, smart card suppliers and computer security specialists. Now in its 7th year, Biometrics 2004 will once again welcome exhibition visitors from around the world. Biometrics 2003 saw almost 2000 international visitors from governments, corporations, financial service companies, police, travel & immigration services and the healthcare sector.
We are also looking to expand our visitors base into new marketplaces, particularly businesses that conduct business on the Internet. Too many commerce sites’ security systems are not robust enough to withstand sophisticated hacks or cyber attacks. As an example let’s choose a niche e-commerce marketplace of casino affiliates focused on providing good and updated information on online slots for US players. The casino world if rife with fraud, so security concerns are significant. In addition there are laws that forbid players from using the internet to gamble in many states. Online slots are a form of gambling when played for real money, so it’s important that the legitimate affiliates drive traffic to legal sites that are scrupulous. While biometrics may not be a part of the experience a slots player may encounter, it is relevant to the casinos who want to ensure that the money accepted and paid out to winners are actually related to real people and only to people who can be confirmed via credentials acceptable to both parties. Slots are hugely popular both as entertainment and as a gaming vehicle and those online casinos that provide legal slots for US players clearly indicate this on their websites and in their promotional material. Player also want to know about slots that are offering free rolls, bonus offerings, and special payoffs, so the affiliates need to keep their websites updated to the latest offerings. If you’re playing from the US you also want to make sure that you can cash in your winnings in US dollars without the need to make currency conversions. One of the best slots affiliates is Online-Casino-Party.co due to their weekly updates and the fact that they specialize in offerings to US players. This is a large marketplace, although there are a number of e-commerce sites, that may or may not have the resources for computer security specialists. Consequently, they are probably even more vulnerable to having customers credit card information compromised. It seems that every month or so you will see a news story about peoples’ personal information being stolen via malicious cyber attacks. Hopefully, someday in the near future, small niche industries like this one serving slots player will be able to afford the latest in digital security and identity management solutions that large companies can. We extend a challenge to our vendors to develop systems that would be affordable for such marketplaces.
‘Vendor Presentations’ – keeping you informed of the latest commercial innovations. A dedicated area of the exhibition will once again be set aside for suppliers to give short practical presentations on their latest products and technologies. Relax, listen, ask questions and discover what is now possible in the world of identity management, digital authentication, smart cards and computer security. A full list of presentations will be published here prior to the event.
